Meet the top 15 uncommitted high school boys basketball players in Minnesota

Half a dozen Minnesota seniors signed with Division I men’s college basketball programs in November, but there’s enough uncommitted talent to fill future rosters.

Among the state’s most high-profile senior prospects, Cretin-Derham Hall’s Tommy Ahneman (Notre Dame), Alexandria’s Chase Thompson (Clemson), Orono’s Nolan Groves (Yale) and Benilde-St. Margaret’s Jalen Wilson (Northern Iowa) are off the board in the 2025 class.

But there are more undecided seniors, rising juniors and sophomores picking up interest from Division I schools.

Minnesota remains a fertile recruiting ground. Here are the top 15 uncommitted boys basketball prospects in the state regardless of class (in alphabetical order):

Wayzata, 6-7 wing, junior

After transferring from Eden Prairie, Anderson burst onto the scene at his new school with 34 points in his debut. He already has six D-I offers, including from Illinois Chicago, Northern Iowa and St. Thomas.

Maple Grove, 6-5 wing, sophomore

A week after receiving an offer from the Gophers and coach Ben Johnson, the explosive Ann had one of his highlights go viral when he dunked on a 7-footer vs. St. Michael-Albertville. He also hit four three-pointers to finish with his second 20-point game of the season.

Totino-Grace, 5-11 point guard, sophomore

Hill’s older siblings have gone on to success at higher levels, and he’s next in line for stardom. Already with a D-I offer, the floor general opened with a 20-point game to help TG upset top-ranked Wayzata.

Totino-Grace, 6-6 wing, junior

Ijadimbola won’t put up big numbers on a loaded team this year, but he’s receiving the most recruiting attention for the three-time state champion, including offers from Iowa State, Iowa, Oklahoma, Xavier and the Gophers.

Faribault, 6-10 center, junior

There’s no better shot blocker in the state than Kreager, who opened eyes swatting shots regularly with D1 Minnesota’s AAU team last spring and summer. He’s now drawing interest from the Big Ten, Big East and several midmajor D-I programs.

Cretin-Derham Hall, 6-1 combo guard, junior

CDH picked up two top transfers, but Mitchell’s the returning Suburban East Player of the Year. Playing for Howard Pulley last AAU season, the dynamic scorer saw his recruiting skyrocket, which included receiving offers from Iowa, South Dakota State and others.

South St. Paul, 6-10 forward/center, sophomore

College coaches are keeping a close eye on Mohamed. He’s improving his athleticism and perimeter skills, attributes rarely seen in a player with his size and length.

Hopkins, 6-0 point guard, junior

The state’s top point guard in the Class of 2026 is weighing playing football and/or basketball in college after landing offers to play both sports from the Gophers. He was an all-star wide receiver in his first season playing high school football.

Breck, 6-5 wing, senior

Overshadowed last season by current Wisconsin freshman Daniel Freitag during a state title run, the bouncy Newton now takes over as Breck’s headlining talent and one of the top guards in the state.

Cretin-Derham Hall, 6-7 wing, sophomore

The Eden Prairie transfer scored 27 points in his first game with Cretin-Derham Hall this season vs. Burnsville. The do-it-all small forward and No. 1 Class of 2027 prospect in Minnesota has an offer sheet that includes the Gophers and rivals Iowa and Wisconsin.

Hopkins, 6-0 combo guard, senior

Smith joins junior Jayden Moore to form perhaps the state’s best backcourt. His 26 points in the season opener led the Royals over Totino-Grace. D-I interest came during the summer playing for the J-Sizzle AAU program.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s, 6-5 combo guard, senior

A three-star prospect, Stuttley is playing at his third school after transferring to BSM following stints at Onalaska (Wis.) and Link Academy (Mo.). In addition to small-conference D-I offers, he has the Gophers, Iowa and Wisconsin showing interest.

East Ridge, 6-1 combo guard, junior

Tomes is still hoping for other high-major programs to join the Gophers and Iowa State, who offered him during his sophomore year. The sharp-shooting playmaker has averaged 29 points per game through his first four games this season.

Champlin Park, 6-6 guard, senior

Wagner transferred to Champlin Park from Totino-Grace to become the focal point of the offense while averaging more than 31 points through four games. He has several D-I offers, including South Dakota State and Drake.

Wayzata, 6-4 wing, junior

Wiggins rose to the No. 1 spot in the state’s 2026 class and received offers from Wisconsin, Iowa, Iowa State and Creighton. He’s a top-50 national recruit in the 247Sports composite rankings and scored 29 points in a recent comeback vs. Maple Grove.
