OKLAHOMA CITY – The Timberwolves were doing the right things in the first half Tuesday in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the Thunder. In fact, they had a 48-44 lead and were containing Oklahoma City’s dangerous Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Then the second half happened.
The Thunder, the top seed in the West, outscored the Wolves 70-40 and ran away to a 114-88 victory.
Probable NBA MVP Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 31 points and nine assists.
Anthony Edwards had only 18 for the Wolves.
