Traffic is once again flowing on southbound I-35W in Mounds View after being closed for four hours following a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles Tuesday morning.

The lanes at Hwy. 10 were shut down about 10 a.m. and reopened about 1:40 p.m., according to Minnesota Department of Transportation traffic cameras.

At least one person was reported dead, said Lt. Mike Lee with the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash happened near County Road I, Lee said. A passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle collided. Images from traffic cameras showed other vehicles appear to have been involved.

Southbound I-35W traffic was being diverted onto westbound Hwy. 10. Traffic on eastbound Hwy. 10 was being diverted onto northbound I-35W.

A crash reconstruction team was on site, a spokesman for the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.

No other details were immediately available.
