Man arrested in fatal shooting in Pine County
Authorities said the man is suspected of shooting and killing another man Friday.

In a news release, the Pine County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a man was shot to death Friday in the 57000 block of Barns Spring Road, a few miles north of St. Croix State Park.
According to jail records, authorities arrested a 31-year-old man Friday on suspicion of second-degree murder. The Star Tribune typically does not name suspects until they are charged.
Witnesses who saw the shooting directed deputies to the suspect, who was arrested with help from the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office. State records suggest the man lives in Lakeville.
The BCA and Pine County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the homicide. The victim’s name and identity will be released after family are notified and an autopsy is performed, and more information on the incident will be released when charges are filed.
Pine County is about 60 miles north of the Twin Cities.
