One man is dead after a shooting in northwest Rochester on Thursday.
Police said the shooting happened around 11:30 a.m. outside an apartment building in the 1000 block of 41st Street NW., near the Watson Sports Complex.
Officers attempted lifesaving measures but the man died at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was not a random act, Rochester Police spokesperson Amanda Grayson said.
No one was in custody as of late Thursday afternoon.
This is the first fatal shooting in Rochester this year, Grayson said. Three were recorded in all of 2024.
