A 36-year-old driver was arrested Tuesday after crashing her car into the patio of Clive’s Roadhouse in Blaine, injuring two passengers.
Suspected drunken driver crashes into restaurant patio in Blaine; 2 in vehicle injured
A driver was arrested in the crash at Clive’s Roadhouse, the State Patrol said.
The car left the roadway at about 6:35 p.m., rolled onto its side after going into a ditch and landed on the patio of the restaurant at 10400 Baltimore St. NE., according to Lt. Michael Lee of the State Patrol.
The two passengers suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported, and Lee did not detail what led to the car leaving the road.
A manager at the restaurant declined comment Wednesday.
The driver, Traci Renee Chaffee of Isanti, Minn., was arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular operation, Lee said. The jail log says she was drunk a the time of the crash. Charges are pending.
The incident comes less than a month after a car crashed into the patio of Park Tavern in St. Louis Park, killing two people and injuring nine others. Steven Frane Bailey, 56, is charged in the incident and with having an alleged blood-alcohol content more than four times the legal limit for driving in Minnesota.
Architect Michael Hara wanted to carry on a legacy from his father and grandfather by also building his own house. It went on to win a design honor from the American Institute of Architects Minnesota.
