Elliot Hughes is a general assignment reporter for the Star Tribune. Before joining the newspaper in 2024, he covered public safety in Milwaukee. He has reported extensively on gun violence, reckless driving, law enforcement, community affairs and local government. Hughes is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied journalism and philosophy. He is a native of the Dairy State and lives in Minneapolis.
