Live updates: Vikings agree to terms with defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, guard Will Fries

On Monday, the first day of the NFL free-agent negotiating period, the Vikings lost quarterback Sam Darnold to Seattle and brought back cornerback Bryon Murphy Jr., their highest priority to re-sign. The Vikings also agreed to a deal with Colts center Ryan Kelly. On Tuesday, they continued to bolster their offensive line by adding Kelly’s teammate, guard Will Fries. The defensive line got a boost too, from a deal with former Washington defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. But after Daniel Jones followed Darnold out of Minnesota, Day 2 of the free-agent negotiating period ended with the same question as Day 1: Which veteran quarterback will the Vikings sign to help shepherd J.J. McCarthy? Contracts can be officially signed when the new league year begins at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
