Authorities have found a man who escaped from the Minnesota Sex Offender Program facility in St. Peter on Friday morning and taken him into custody.
Beau-Jacob Edward Zimmer was captured just after 7 a.m., the St. Peter Police Department said.
Zimmer took off from the facility on a bicycle around 1:30 a.m. Friday and was believed to have been armed with a kitchen knife with an orange handle and an approximately 3-inch blade, police said.
Police had issued an alert when Zimmer went missing and found him after a citizen spotted him and called law enforcement, authorities said.
