Hyatt grew up in Laporte, Minn. and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She worked as an investigative reporter at The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead and the Owatonna People's Press where she was named New Journalist of the Year by the Minnesota Newspaper Association. Outside of work, she enjoys biking and basketball.
