A stretch of Interstate 94 in Minneapolis was shut down for nearly 12 hours after a State Patrol use-of-force incident Saturday night.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said it was processing a scene “related to a State Patrol use-of-force incident” near Dowling Avenue in Minneapolis.

Troopers had responded to a crash on I-94 near the Dowling Avenue exit about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Lt. Michael Lee of the State Patrol said Sunday evening.
When troopers arrived, “the incident turned into a use of deadly force,” Lee said in a written statement.
No one was injured in the use-of-force incident, Lee said, and a suspect was arrested.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) said in a social media post about 9:45 a.m. Sunday that it was processing a scene “related to a State Patrol use-of-force incident” following a separate incident on the highway.
MnDOT’s website listed the cause of the closure as a “traffic incident” but provided no further details.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said the lanes had reopened shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday. The closure affected eastbound lanes between Dowling Avenue N. and W. Broadway.
